My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Your loyal sidekick!

Hi there! My name is Yuno, and I’m a 1.5-year-old, 40-pound Terrier mix with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging. Once upon a time, I was stuck in the scary world of Ellos Son La Razon in Mexico, but I’m ready to leave that experience behind me and jump paws-first into my happily-ever-after with you!

I’m the perfect mix of curiosity and cuddles, with a gentle, loving nature that’ll melt your heart. Whether it’s snuggling on the couch, exploring while on a walk, or learning cool new tricks to impress you, I’m always up for making memories. I’m also a huge fan of doggie playdates, outdoor fun, and running errands together.

When it comes to training, I’ve really got my act together. In fact, I’m a crate champ and will sleep through the night inside my crate without making a peep (though I wouldn’t mind upgrading to your bed, wink wink).  My leash skills are on point, and I’m so close to being fully potty-trained (still a few accidents, here and there). I’m also in great health and have already been spayed.

I’d thrive in a home where love and attention are in endless supply. I’m a social butterfly who gets along with other doggies, grownups, and kiddos (preferably 10 and up). A furry sibling to play with and learn from would be ideal, but no cats, please! They are way too fun to chase. While I can handle being alone for a bit during the day, I’d much rather have a human or pup companion by my side throughout the day.

If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick who’ll bring endless joy and warmth to your life, I’m your girl! My adoption fee is $400 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane.
Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational.
All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times.
All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise.
Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000.
Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc.

More about this rescue

Overview
The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue devoted to saving the lives of dogs facing euthanasia at high kill animal shelters and off the streets of Mexico. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home locally.

We are dedicated to animal advocacy, and educating dog owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We are a foster based rescue, and rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of the amazing people who make donations toward the rescue and care of the dogs we save.

We are always looking for adopters, fosters, donations, volunteers, etc.. Please let us know if you would like to get involved by contacting us at one of the email addresses found below.
