My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

QUILT was a local surrender and came into rescue with her 3 sisters (Sew, Knit and Embroider) and she’s now looking for her forever home. She’s spayed, vaccinated including rabies, microchipped and been deemed a healthy girl and ready to find her loving home. She’s the most outgoing of all the sisters and she loves her humans. She warms up quickly to new people and she’ll be on your lap before you know it. She’ll sit contentedly on your lap and snuggle with you and it’s not too long before she starts turning into a purring machine.

QUILT is litter box trained and has used it since coming into rescue. She loves to be cozy and will sit in her high sided cat bed to snuggle up for a nap. She enjoys sitting in the cat tree and watching all the critters outside the window. She’s very clean and is often caught giving herself a wash down as she sits on top of the catio. She loves to relax in a hammock and would love her new home to have one that sticks to the window. She’s well socialized as she’s fostered with other kittens, puppies and bigger dogs so would suit a home with other animals. Any dogs in the home should be cat savvy and a slow, monitored introduction should be done while the dog is leashed. Children should be aged 6 and up plus be loving, caring and gentle towards animals.

If QUILT sounds like a kitty who’ll fit into your home then please submit an adoption application to meet her.

Additional adoption info

Dogs: $750 (as of March 2024)
Cats: $250
The adoption process involves a brief application for the pet you are interested in. We will review your application and if you appear to be a good match for the pet, we will contact you for a phone interview. If that is successful we then do a vet reference check. If all goes well we will then set up a meet and greet for you and anyone else living in the home including any resident dogs with the pet. We then ask you to go home and contemplate your decision on adopting the pet and let us know your decision within 24hrs of meeting the pet. If applicable we will then move forward with the adoption at a mutually agreed upon time.

Go meet their pets

We only set up meet and greets with our animals once an adoption application has been submitted. We do occasionally have meet and greets with our animals at Global Pet Foods in the Barrie area.

You can check out the available pets on our rescuegroups website or on our rescue Facebook page.

More about this rescue

We’re a small rescue with a big mission to save animals in our Northern communities, local Pounds and owner surrenders (under certain circumstances.) We’re located in Barrie, Ontario and we serve the area of Simcoe County and within a two hour radius of the Barrie area.
Our intakes are placed in loving foster homes until they’re assessed, vetted including vaccines, microchip and a spay/neuter (if over 6 months of age) before they leave the rescue to be adopted. Female puppies are spayed at 6 months of age and males 8 months of age.)
We’re always looking for additional foster homes as we can only do intakes if we have foster homes for them to go into.
