My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 2 years
Weight: 5.1 kg

Are you looking for a lap cat? Do you love black cats? And don`t give your cats baths? Then come meet Vesper! This sweet gal is affectionate, adores cuddles on your lap, and loves to provide her family with lots of entertainment! The only time she ever got upset enough to scratch in her previous home was whenever they attempted to bath her, so Vesper would love you even more if you left her in charge of her own cleanliness! Although she did get along with the previous resident kitty, it`s been noted that Vesper may do best as the only cat in the home. But with a kitty as snuggly, loving, and silly as her? You definitely won`t be missing out! So come say hello to Vesper today and let her charm her way into your heart and home!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
