This cat is an FIP Survivor. They were diagnosed with FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) and received 84 days of antiviral injections and passed an additional 84 day observation period. FIP is a mutation of feline coronavirus that can happen in some cats who have lower immune systems or who have a genetic predisposition. There is no continued care after treatment. This cat has tested positive for FeLV and needs to be adopted as a solo cat or into a home with another FeLV positive cat. FeLV is not transmitted across species.
Cats who are positive for FeLV have a reduced immune system and are more susceptible to illness and disease. They will require more frequent veterinary visits and may or may not have a reduced life span.
