Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Meet Chip! He is the sweet, tiniest little bay you`ll ever meet. He just wants to snuggle up all day with someone who will love him- impossible not to with that perfect little face and worried wrinkles!
Adopting a puppy is great fun, but puppies require a LOT of dedicated time for training and socialization, including exposure to many different situations. This means puppy classes, lots of daily exercise, playtime, attention, and ongoing training will be essential, as this dog will be energetic and playful for many years to come. Puppies can`t be left unattended for more than a couple of hours at a time in the first several months. A household or guardian who is ready to take on the challenges of housetraining, grooming, and making sure their new family member becomes a well-adjusted canine citizen is necessary. Please do some research on bringing up puppies before submitting an application for adoption.
The Seattle Animal Shelter is committed to reducing length of stay for all of our shelter pets! Some pets qualify for FREE or reduced adoption fees, please inquire with our Animal Care team to learn more.
Pets are complex beings and prior to adoption, interested adopters will be counseled by a staff member to discuss the specific needs for each animal. This will include reviewing all known medical and behavior information.
** Please note that some animals will receive numerous inquiries, sometimes more than we can process. We appreciate your understanding and patience. **
HOW TO ADOPT: Check the animal’s location. (If you cannot see the animal’s location, please view the pet’s profile through our website: https://www.seattle.gov/animal-shelter/find-an-animal/adopt)
From Foster Care (out of shelter): 1. Copy and paste the adoption survey link into a new tab on your browser: https://bit.ly/SASdogsurvey 2. Download and complete the dog survey. 3. Save the survey to your device with a new file name that includes your last name. Make sure it`s filled in when opened again. 4. Put the name of the dog(s) in the Subject Line of a new email. Attach your survey, add any additional information you would like us to know, and send to sasfosteradoption@seattle.gov.
