Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Karter is 8 weeks old and ready to leave his rough start behind and embrace the good life with open paws. Despite his neglected beginning, this little guy has a “living my best life” attitude and is thriving in his foster home.
We’re pretty confident Karter has Shih Tzu in him, and we suspect a splash of Yorkshire Terrier or another small breed may be in the mix. Whatever the combination, Karter is pure charm and cuteness rolled into one!
Karter is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, and all set to find his forever family.
At Blackberry Point Haven, we keep our adoption fees intentionally higher to discourage resale and ensure our pups are placed in homes that are fully committed to giving them the love and care they deserve. We follow a conversation-based adoption process to make sure every match is the right one.
Karter is being fostered through Blackberry Point Haven, a licensed rescue in Wisconsin (License Number: DS-537371) with foster homes in Illinois. We are also a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
If you’re ready to welcome Karter into your family and spoil him like he deserves, reach out—we’d love to hear from you!
This Sunday, December 22, 2024, from 10-2, we’re hosting an adoption event at N1320 S. Lakeshore Drive, Genoa City, Wisconsin 53128. Come meet this pup and so many more ready for their forever homes!

Additional adoption info
we are going to follow the National No Kill Advocacy Guidelines, which recommend conversation-based adoptions and education to find a good home. Ensuring a good home doesn’t require excessive arbitrary rules. Adopters have many options when it comes to finding their new best friend, and making the decision to adopt rather than go to a more convenient pet store or breeder shouldn’t be a difficult process.
