Who Who is looking for looking for an owl cat? Hootie got her name because she looks an owl when she puts her ears back, because of her big, beautiful, round eyes. Hootie and her Blowfish were trapped during a mass TNR event but they were both too sweet to put back outside.
Hootie can be a little shy at first but can be bribed with wet food and churu. Hootie is a pretty chill cat who can be found lounging in her hammock or on her cat tree most of the day. She loves her little Blowfish but doesn’t seem to be interested in the other cats in foster. Hootie has begun approaching her foster mom for wet food and will even give butt raises when petted. She will need to go to a home that could start her in a small room and continue to work with her. Hootie is easy to handle though currently does not prefer to be held. She is working on it though! Her foster mom feels with the right, patient adopter, she will get there sooner than later!
We feel that Hootie would prefer to go to a home as a single cat or to a home with another very calm cat that will share her space but also respect her space. She could also be adopted with her foster friend Blowfish. Hootie doesn’t seem to mind dogs who are calm and respect her space. Hootie would likely do best in an adult only home, or a home with older, respectful and more calm children.
Hootie is estimated to be about eight months old. She has been spayed, dewormed, flea treated, vaccinated, microchipped, and has tested FIV/FeLV-.
If you are looking for a chill, gorgeous owl cat who just needs a little time to show you how much they love you, apply for Hootie today!

Additional adoption info
We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.

We are a small but dedicated 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue specializing in making one person's garbage kitten another person's forever cat.
Our mission is to reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions. We foster and socialize whenever we have the resources to do so, including behavioral cats and kittens who might otherwise just be candidates for TNR.
