About Gordo:
Gordo is a charming and lovable senior with a heart full of affection. He has been at Yolo County Animal Services since December 1, 2024, and is ready to find his forever retirement home. Gordo is the epitome of a senior dog – gentle, friendly, and full of love. His relaxed and easygoing personality makes him a perfect companion for someone looking for a low-maintenance, loyal pet.

Although Gordo may look smaller, he weighs a solid 64 pounds and carries himself with the confidence and grace of a seasoned pup. He has the sweetest smile that’s sure to brighten anyone’s day. Gordo seems to like other dogs.  He has a calm and pleasant disposition that’s perfect for someone who will love and care for him.

Senior dogs like Gordo are often overlooked, but they bring so much joy, wisdom, and love. Gordo is ready to be a devoted companion and provide endless affection to the right family.

All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months).    All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control. Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

*The shelter is currently open for adoptions by appointment only. Please email us at adoptycas@gmail.com if you are interested in adopting.
For other shelter services, please call us at (530) 668-5287*

To adopt you must have a photo ID and proof of your current address. If not on your ID then bring in a bill with your name and your current address. If you rent you must provide a lease clearly stating the pet policy or provide a name and phone number for your landlord so that we may confirm the pet policy. If you own your home you may provide a mortgage statement or property tax bill for proof.

You must be 18 years or older to adopt.

If you wish to adopt a dog and have other dog(s) at home, please bring them with you to the shelter so that they may meet. Even if your dog is wonderful with other dogs, many of the dogs at the shelter have come in as strays so we have no history on them and need to be sure they get along with your pet(s).

If you have any other questions, please go to www.yolocountysheriff.com or call the shelter for more information.
