Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Not every dog grows up to match the name they were given as a young pup but Honey Bear here sure is. Besides the Bear part, unless you imagined a gentle teddy bear, in that case yes! Honey Bear is a gentle boy, meant for couches and the adoring eyes of people. Easy-going, friendly, and honestly one of those dogs that just sort of melt into the mix. My favorite thing about Honey is the comical way he moves when he is playing, I’m convinced he is made out of mostly noodles, which makes fetch or him trying to get on the couch an immediate comedy show. He may grow out of it as he goes from puppy to adult but something makes me believe he will always have a bit of goofy. Take a look for yourself here-

Honey Bear is more than a cute and friendly face! He is great with littles, friendly and playful without being pushy with other dogs, and affectionate while confident on his own. Of course, he is growing into himself so his personality will be emerging and molded by experiences but he has a perfect good-boy base to work from. Honey Bear is estimated to be 5 months old, which cant be guaranteed but our vet staff are experienced in aging dogs with puppies having key markers that help that. He currently weighs 30 lbs and we expect he will be a medium size dog once full-grown, likely 60 ish lb range.
This boy is so fortunate, he is waiting for his fur-ever family in a foster home which gives him an incredible head-start on all the things it takes to be a good house dog. Most importantly, and honestly worth its weight in gold, he is both house and crate trained and uses the doggie door like a champ. This also gives us a front row seat to his personality which his foster host has described as affectionate and happy. It has also been shared that he is quiet in his crate and has been left for longer and longer stretches and has not had a potty accident once. We love a smart and fast-learning dog! He is also well on the way to being a great walking buddy! He has great basic leash skills and is continuing to practice while he waits for his forever family. A little polishing will likely come easy and an all-star walking buddy will be yours.
With other dogs Honey Bear is playful but aloof if a person he wants to love on is the alternative, at least at first. Once he settles in he is playful with canine friends. He currently lives with a canine companion and they love to play together as much as they love to lay together.
When we introduced Honey Bear to our house cat Tom, he showed us a respectful curiosity followed by cautious awareness. Given his age and his approach to our house cat, we would say with guidance and slow intros, Honey Bear could be wonderful company for a feline-friend. Whether or not you have a cat, Honey Bear is definitely meant for the +1 category. He will thrive with another dog in the home, or regular play time through doggie day care of neighborhood get-togethers. Because although he loves his people, canine companionship feels key to him having the whole-happy we hope for.
So to explain it simply, Honey Bears ideal home would include an adoring person/people, a playful canine companion, walks, adventures, and toys! How could we breeze over that- Hone y Bear is a toy-loving boy! From a tennis ball to a stuffie, he loves them and is terribly cute when he is enjoying a toy. Plus, he is nearly entirely fetch-ready. A little more praise and practice and y’all are going to have tennis balls in the yard and a happy dog with one in his mouth waiting for you.
Honey Bear is ready to become a loyal companion, perfect for the kind of strolls where you meet new friends and cozy Netflix nights. This boy has the makings of what we all look for in *The One”. If he feels like he is yours, please do not hesitate to reach out or fill out an application! These are the ones that go fast and for good reason.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.
While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:
Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
