My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ruckus!

Ruckus recently came to us with his mom and siblings, and is now searching for his furever home! He is an adorable ball of energy, ready to be your best friend and adventure pal! Cuddles, snuggles, and playtime are his absolute favourite things!

Puppies need lots of attention and a safe environment for them to grow into great pets. Like any baby, Ruckus is constantly learning. He will need help to learn the rules in a new house, things like, what to play with, where to go to the bathroom, where to sleep to name a few. He'll need annual health checks with his veterinarian for the rest of his life to keep him in optimum health. It's also a good idea to research his breed before considering adopting. Raising a puppy is a big commitment but well worth it when you consider they will be a part of your family for many years!

If you're ready to welcome Ruckus into your home and hearts, please submit an application for the Shuswap Branch through the link below!

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
