Everyone, this is Hector!

Hector is such a ham. He loves to romp around and play here at the shelter and is one big and strong teddy bear of a dog. He knows how to sit very well and sits for treats and his food bowl. He hasn`t learned how to play fetch just yet, but we are sure he will warm up nicely in his new home for the holidays and be a part of all the fun and games a new home can bring.

Being as Hector is almost 60 pounds of a lean muscle machine, small children are not recommended for Hector`s new home. We want Hector to go to a home where he will get tons of exercise and that his owners will be able to handle his leash training. Hector will also benefit greatly from basic and intermediate obedience training as well as leash-training.

Come up and meet Hector and all his pals today and get big smooches in while you`re at it.

If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.

Submit Application

Interview

Macomb County Animal Control will verify proper preventative care history of past/current pets and verify home ownership/review a pet policy

3.
Approve Application

Once an application is approved the adoption coordinator will schedule a time with the applicant/family to meet the pet.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

If a meet-and-greet is successful the family has an opportunity to finalize the adoption.

5.
Pay Fee

Each pet has an established adoption fee and payment can be accepted in the form of credit/debit, check or cash.

6.
Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

Fees very depending on age, animal, breed, etc. Fees vary and are established by the county to help offset medical and care expenses.

You are required to fill out an adoption application that is subject to review. We reserve the right to deny any application for any reason. If you would like to adopt and dog and already have a dog/s, please bring your dog/s with you so we can make sure the dogs get along. If you rent your home, live in a condo or mobile home community, please bring proof that you are allowed to have pets.
