My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sienna is a very special dog. She came to rescue after experiencing extreme neglect - twice! She came to us over the summer and has made great strides while in our program. She has finally filled out and is officially healthy (heartworm negative, good weight, etc.). She has learned how to safely socialize with other dogs - but does prefer one-on-one socialization, rather than a group play date or park. She does have a rather high prey drive, so ranch or farm life is not for her... and neither is a home with cats. Sienna is extremely smart and would be a great dog for an experienced owner or someone who has a drive and passion in training their animals. She could be a fantastic partner for obedience, rally, agility, or scentwork. As much as she loves food and treats, she thrives off human attention - there is not a resource more valuable to Sienna than love and affection from "her people." Sienna has bounced around quite a bit in our program and we are truly ready for her to find her "forever family."

Sienna is a part of our 2024 Pitmas Campaign, which means her adoption fee has been sponsored by private donors and she comes equipped with - essentially - a "starter kit" of products and items, tailored just for her.

Additional adoption info

Our rigorous adoption process ensures we are selecting the right home for each individual dog and his/her unique personality. This includes an application, home check, veterinary reference check, personal reference checks (only in certain situations), landlord checks (for rentals), phone interview with candidate, and meet and greet with our dog. From there we sign paperwork, pay the fee and send the dog home. We follow up frequently during the first few weeks, but are always a resource to our adopters.
