My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Daisy
Gender: Female
Altered: Unknown
Breed: Australian Cattle Dog
Age: 1-2yrs
Size: Small/Medium
Location: Tampa, Florida

Daisy was picked up as a stray in Alabama and put in a shelter there. She has since been moved to Tampa, FL where she is fostered.

Daisy is the sweetest pint sized bundle of joy. She’s always excited to play outside or with toys inside, but loves to snuggle and cuddle for naps too. She likes to sleep at the bottom of the bed at night.
It took about two weeks for her to feel less anxious, but is adjusting well. She loves children and is curious about other dogs, but isn’t ready yet for being around a bunch of big dogs. She can get protective/resource guard around toys and her favorite people, but is getting better about sharing the love and responds to direction. She walks with a loose leash and knows how to sit/stay, and is still working on following commands at all times. She loves to monitor the yard for squirrels and will even catch them! She could be happy in a family with another dog, but will need a slow and calm introduction to the other dog.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require potential adopters to fill out an Adoption Application. When that is approved we can arrange for the prospective adopter to meet the dog they are interested in. We do require an adoption contract to be signed at time of adoption. We have a virtual home-check process (don't forget to submit photos of the exterior of your home!) Adoption fees range depending on the age of the dog. We do have dogs located at qualified fosters throughout the state and also out of state.

Go meet their pets

Since all rescue dogs live in foster homes, there is no single facility to meet pups.

You will need to contact Ewenity Farms HDH to make arrangements to meet the rescue dog after you have an approved app on file. Apps can be filled out at ewenityfarm.org

More about this rescue

We are a small, foster-based rescue organization located in Southwest Florida. Being small helps us give more one-on-one attention to individual dogs and their needs. Rescued dogs are kept in our homes and treated as our own. Herding dogs are unique. They are highly intelligent and require much of the owner’s attention. The dogs are evaluated, when they come into the rescue, for any temperament and health issues. Then they are given basic obedience, socialization and rehabilitation as it is necessary.

It is our sole purpose to find forever homes for these loving, wonderful dogs that have been discarded through no fault of their own. All adopted dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, micro-chipped, and on flea and heartworm preventative.
