Princess (who we call Cookie) had a very neglected life before falling into rescue. In fact, when she was found, her right eye was bulging out of her face, and most of her body was completely covered in the most horribly matted fur. She struggled to even walk, and seemed to be losing the will to live.
But, then she was rescued. Swept away into an extensive grooming and cleaning. And a tiny little 6 pound dog emerged! Following her deep scrub, she climbed into her foster Mom’s lap, so grateful to finally have the prison of matted fur and filth lifted from her. She snuggled with me, and thanked me for helping her. In the days following, she received procedures that would change her life completely and send her on a road to health and happiness. She has had a removal of her right eye (which is healing beautifully), a dental cleaning and tooth extractions, and a spay. And you may not believe it, but after all of this, she is acting much more happy and joyous than she was before. And she is still recovering! So, you can see what a hard time she was having before. Today, She prances around with her tail up in the air wagging wildly. With one eye, no less (that doesn’t slow her down one bit!) And it is a beautiful thing. A total 180 from where she was.
If there ever was a dog who deserved the best life from here on out, and the most love of all, it would be this one. She has been through so SO much, and has fought very hard to get to where she is now.
She is very grateful to the people who show her love, and gives them so much affection. She loves to cuddle. She tends to bond very quickly and deeply. So, she can get typical small dog sass if another animal gets too close. She tends to lunge Instead of getting aggressive, to set boundaries with pets and people she thinks should stay back. As a small dog that has been in the wild for a long time, we can certainly understand these boundaries she expects when she is feeling unsafe.
Princess is fully potty trained and has never had an accident in our home, is great on a leash (or off-leash), stays right with her people, comes when called, and is crate trained. In fact, she likes the safety of her crate and doesn’t mind being in there one bit. Whether she is sleeping in a dog bed in the kitchen, or in her crate, she does not make a peep or have an accident all night. She quietly waits for us to wake up and let her out/feed her in the morning.
She is totally amenable to doing whatever you want, whether that be going on a walk, hanging around on the couch, or baking in the kitchen. She is a bit of a lazy bones and likes to lay around quite a bit. Princess is a gem, and is just waiting for the right family to come along, scoop her up, and make her dreams come true! Could you be her forever!?

The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org).
Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration).
Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.
