My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am a sweet, social, older gentleman, looking for the perfect forever home!

What do you get when you cross a cat with a couch? A cat-potato! And that's me to a T!

Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy!

I have been known to shower my favorite people in love!

I love getting pets and - you guessed it - snuggles!

I can go home today!

Louis interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. We recommend that he go to a home with adopters with some cat experience preferred or at least be well counseled in overstimulation.

A volunteer writes: When I opened Louis' cage he looked quite scared and shy, staring at me wide eyed. I assumed he would not let me touched him and I would only be able to get photos. I continued to speak to him for a few minutes and offer him treats. He didn't take his eyes off of me. I was just about to give up when he stood up and gave a big stretch and strode forward towards me, confidently. I was shocked, it seemed like a switch turned on. He suddenly began leaning his head into my head, seemingly not getting enough petting. Eventually he indulged in treats too. It's amazing to see how comfortable he got within minutes. I think Louis can benefit from an adopter who lets him move at his own pace and will understand that he might need a sec! I'm thankful the Louis trusted me enough to open up to me!
