Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Nellie-Poodle/Australian Shepard female puppy, ~ 12 mo. (Dec. 2024)
Contact rescuebc@hotmail.com for application
Nelly came to rescue recently after being evaluated to be a Service Dog. She's been through a Prison Training program and has learned so much. Do to loud noises bothering her, she has been deemed for a pet/companion home, versus a working dog. The trainer says she has a sweet temperment She is housetrained and crate trained, having lived in an apartment at the prison, with her inmate trainer. She's had basic obedience. She learned about grooming and good husbandry skills. She rides well in a crate in the car and ready to learn more. She has not met cats, but doesn't have the personality to bother them. She's met some smaller children, but has not lived with them. She is a medium girl, about 25# at this time. Mostly grown.
Nellie's adoption fee is $600 to help cover the medical costs of getting ready for adoption.

Additional adoption info
The first step in the adoption process is to request an application from rescuebc@hotmail.com. Please allow 1-2 days to receive the application. Please be patient as we are 100% volunteer supported. We will need several days to make the calls on your application. The current pets in the home must be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines and annual exams, and currently on heartworm preventative for dogs. You must be 21 years of age and gainfully employed.
Once you are approved, a volunteer will contact you and invite you to a Meet and Greet to visit with a pet. All our pets are fostered in private homes and only come to the event when they have a potential adopter.
Plan to spend 1-2 hours at the Meet and Greet. It takes time to unload our pets and give them an opportunity to relieve themselves. You will have time to visit with a pet to decide if this is the right pet for your family. You will be required to sign a legal contract and we will go over the medical records with you. You will be required to take your new pet to the vet within 7 days of adopting.
We charge an adoption fee for all of our animals. This fee varies depending on the vetting requirements of that particular animal. The adoption fee is cash only.
If you have any questions, please email rescuebc@hotmail.com.
