My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Parrot!

Parrot is bonded with her boyfriend, Peg Leg Pete, so we’d love for them to be adopted together. We don’t their full story, but what we gathered from the father of their previous owner is that Parrot lived with Peggy and some other cats, but Peggy is said to not be the father of her 3 babies that she had. Parrot was a great mom to her babies and had Peggy for support through raising them- he would even clean and snuggle them so she could catch a break!

Parrot’s babies have all grown and gone on to different fosters homes. Parrot is very shy and reserved but once she warms up, she loves getting pets! She will make soft purrs and little muffins to let you know she’s pleased. Parrot enjoys resting in a snuggly spot with her best man, Peg Leg Pete, and relies on him for little confidence boosts! Parrot has a sweet little meow and will call out for her wet food, which she really enjoys! She is still young and active enough to love to play with their favorite toy- a little parrot with a feather tail. Parrot would do best in a calmer home with older children. She may do ok with a calm older dog, and should be ok with other cats with proper intros.

Parrot is about 1.5 years old, spayed, FIV/FELV tested negative, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and flea treated. She has been treated and cleared of an ear infection. If this sweet little birdy sounds like the best buddy for you, apply for her today!

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Typically we talk a little with potential adopters to find a cat who is a good fit before sharing the application.

2.

Approve Application

We check over the application including checking vet references and doing landlord checks.

3.

Interview

We spend more time chatting with the adopters to specifically go over any questions from the application and details about the specific cat.

4.

Meet the Pet

Potential adopters have a meet and greet with the cat or kitten in the foster home.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

At the meet and greet, if all goes well, the adoption contract can be signed, the fee can be paid, and the pet can go home!

6.

Pay Fee

7.

Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.

More about this rescue

We are a small but dedicated 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue specializing in making one person's garbage kitten another person's forever cat.

Our mission is to reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions. We foster and socialize whenever we have the resources to do so, including behavioral cats and kittens who might otherwise just be candidates for TNR.
