My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rico, born approximately 5/29/2020, is a reformed Tomcat who lived a tough life on the streets but who is adapting beautifully to the spoiled and pampered indoor life. He has crinkly ears from many fights and the rough living style he experienced for years prior to being rescued. But this only adds to his charm. Rico is quite a character and still needs to learn some manners-his biggest quirk is how he likes to give love bites but he is progressing in how to be gentle. He follows you around like a dog, chirping and trilling with his tiny squeaky voice (which is hilarious, considering his size and battle scars) and is incredibly loyal. He still plays like a kitten and enjoys all his toys-as if he’s making up for having to constantly be on alert and in fight or flight mode in his former life. Now, he is happy, healthy and soaking up his newfound freedom to play. In the other hand, he can be quite a lazy couch potato and seeks out your lap for all his napping and snuggling needs. Better have a hearty lap because he is a BIG boy! Rico loves to have his little black chin beard scratched and would do just about anything for snacks-in fact, he thinks it’s always time to eat. His adopter will definitely need to understand and appreciate his quirks, as well as, monitor his caloric intake. But the human who does choose Rico will have a lifelong companion, a ride or die buddy, a devoted sidekick, and such a strong bond for life. Rico is FIV+ but he loves other nice, non-threatening kitties (believe it or not, this hefty guy can be bullied). When he finds a kitty with whom he hits it off well, he becomes such a mushy, snuggle buddy to them.
