My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Say hello to Ham, the gentle giant of his litter. From the start, Ham has always been the biggest among his siblings, a trait that has made him a favorite with my husband. His size doesn't just make him perfect for cuddles, it also makes him the ideal playmate. Despite his size, Ham is always gentle with his siblings, often letting the smallest ones "win" their playful tussles. But Ham isn't just brawn - he's got brains too. He was the quickest to "potty train" on the grate and pan in his box, proving that he's as smart as he is big. With his combination of size, gentleness, and intelligence, Ham is truly one of a kind.

Ham's Mom's Rescue Story: I was at a church retreat in Willis, TX in September. A stray dog had begun to appear when the venue held events. The week before my retreat, the venue owners had asked all the neighbors if they knew who the dog was. It appears that Penny was abandoned on the street sometime in July or August. That Sunday, the owners realized they would need to take her to the shelter, but I knew she had to come home with me instead. She was so sweet and friendly even as a hungry stray. I brought her home, introduced her to our cats and golden retriever, and it's been a perfect fit ever since! In October, we realized Penny must be pregnant. On November 4th, she delivered 9 healthy puppies. They have been the best surprise blessing of 2024! We are unsure about Penny's DNA, but she appears to be part Vizsla and part hound. We have no idea who the puppies' dad is, but they are precious and so is their mom!
