Hello, I`m Chestnut. My days are usually quiet, filled with peaceful naps and gentle purrs. I`m a bit on the shy side, but don`t let that fool you. Give me a bit of time and I`ll warm up to you, offering soft head bumps and sweet, slow blinks. I`m not one for loud noises or sudden movements. I prefer calm environments where I can relax and be myself. Life with me will be serene, a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of the world. More about this shelter

The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society was founded in 1926 and incorporated in 1949. The Humane Society has a publicly-tendered contract with the City of Windsor to provide animal control and basic shelter services in the City. This is only a portion of the work done by our organization. In 2016 almost 12,000 animal came through the doors of our shelter and spay/neuter clinic. We can’t help them without your support.
