My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello my name is Amber! I was surrendered to RRUFF by a breeder who realized that she/he didn't have the time to properly socialize and take care of me. I'm 11 months old and weigh 65 lbs. I'm a very shy girl, but once I warm up to you I will be all over you. I currently live with two male Rottweilers and one female Rottweiler who are trying to show me the ropes. I am a very happy girl who loves to chase them and engage them in play, but I can be a pest to them at times. Since I am so young, I have that puppy character: I like to chew things, play and need a lot of training to perfect my manners. I don't like when I'm left alone. I will bark and whine, but if one of my foster brothers or sister is with me, I settle down. I am also trying to figure out where I fit in the pack, but my foster mom is making sure I know by teaching me the rules to follow by.

Amber is a beautiful pup who loves to please and wants all your attention. She is very smart and knows what you ask of her. She needs structure and consistency. We are working on her manners as she likes to jump on people and furniture, gets exuberant when food is being served (human or dog food), is pushy with the other Rotties in the house to gain attention from the humans, but overall she is a great puppy. If you are sitting down and watching TV or using your computer, she will lay down by your feet. If she is bored, she will chew on a toy.

Due to lack of proper socialization, Amber is shy with people, but don't let her fool you because she is a very confident girl with other dogs and people that she knows. She can also be a little skittish, but will get over it in time. With all that she is, remember she is still a puppy and one who has not been taught correctly or properly socialized.

Amber is currently learning, no, sit, stay, down, come, leave it, off… and better manners. If you are interested in Amber, you must be a good leader, patient, consistent in your training/commands, be calm, and also assertive. She is a great pup and will even become a better dog in the right home. Check back for updates on her progress in foster care.

Amber is currently being fostered in Northeastern MA.
