Fiyero is a 6 year old Shih Tzu mix ready to ‘dance through life’ with his forever family! Fiyero was found abandoned in a poppy field with his Wicked pals on the way to see the Wizard. We have no idea how anyone could have ever left this handsome boy behind but we promised to click our heels together and wish for him to find his perfect forever home. Fiyero weighs 12 pounds and has a gorgeous non-shedding coat. He will need regular grooming. Ready to head down to the Ozdust Ballroom? Meet Fiyero today!

Fiyero is a happy, snuggly pup who has a heart the size of the Emerald City! Fiyero loves being cuddled and will follow his people wherever they go. We have gotten to watch him blossom since he joined our rescue which has been such a delight and what makes rescue worth it. Fiyero loves to play and is always ready to scoop up a toy and race around the house for hours with a smile on his face. He recently learned how to play fetch and was so proud of himself! Fiyero would love a family ready to shower him in love and attention. He would be thrilled to tag along on adventures but is just as happy to snuggle the day away on the couch. He also has such a goofy personality when he’s playing. He learned how to play dead and utilizes that skill when he decides he needs to keep his prized toys away from the other dogs. He is so funny! Fiyero has made such wonderful progress from his days of being abandoned in a field and we can’t wait to see him continue to blossom with his forever family!

Fiyero wakes up around 8 AM for his first potty break of the day. Once he comes back inside, he snoozes until he’s ready for his first meal. He grazes at his kibble throughout the morning until he’s ready for his walk. He loves to get all his sniffs out. Then, he joins his foster mom at work. He loves riding on the golf cart or dancing down the halls of Shiz! After work, he heads back home for another walk prior to dinner. He eats dinner around 6 PM. He ends the day on the couch getting his snuggles and kisses before one last potty break and then bed.

Fiyero loves his canine siblings and is super playful. He would love a canine companion in his forever home. He loves kids and adults. Fiyero walks well on a leash and is working on his potty training. Fiyero will require regular grooming and interested homes should be ready to discuss this. Ready to start your day in the Emerald City? Adopt Fiyero and skip down the yellow brick road!

Fiyero is only an option for homes who have owned a dog in the last 5 years. Kids should be over the age of 8.

More about this rescue

We are passionate folks who love dogs and love people! We strive to make the most appropriate match between human and canine. Because our dogs live in foster homes we know about their temperament and personality and therefore can help families and individuals decide if the dog is a good match or not. We are excited to help people find the right pooch for them and look forward to meeting great folks and welcoming them into the DPS Family.
