My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 9 months
Weight: 23.1 kg

A little bit about Toby:
- kids okay
- cats / small animals unknown, history of co-existing with resident cat
- dogs unknown, potential for other dog in home pending successful dog-to-dog

Oh boy are you in for a treat when you meet Toby! While he may be a scaredy-cat in new situations and with new people, once he`s had the time to warm up to you, he soon turns into a super snuggly, sweet, and playful pup! Toby thinks that he is a lap dog and loves to be as close to you as possible when its cuddle time. However, as a puppy, he will still need some help learning proper doggy manners as he can be a little jumpy and mouthy if he gets overexcited. Luckily, Toby is a very smart boy and treat motivated, and has shown that he is able to learn new things quickly! It will be important to offer Toby lots of enrichment, chew toys, and physical activities as he is an active boy, but it will be so worth it once he`s snuggled up with you! Come meet the oh-so-adorable Toby today to make him a part of your heart and home!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
