Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Spice up your holidays with a little Tajin! He is a three-month-old, fluffy orange kitten looking for his forever home with people to adore and admire him in all his beauty.
Tajin and his sister Dill are little miracles. They were the sickest of the bunch and spent some time at the animal hospital trying to heal. Now, Tajin is now one of the biggest boys and a fluffy ball of energy! He loves his toys so much that he can frequently be found engaging in a game of keep-away with his siblings if they try and take his favorite scrap of paper or random ball of fluff he found on the floor.
Tajin is very playful but also fairly independent, often playing by himself or strategically taking in on the action from afar. When he’s in the mood though, watch out because he can scrap with the best of them. Tajin enjoys laps and windows are his favorite napping spots.
Tajin currently lives with his siblings and mom in their foster home (house) with two adult foster parents and occasional visits from their adult children. He does well with other cats and children, but has never met a dog.
Because of his young age, Tajin will need to be adopted with one of his siblings (check out the rest of the “spice rack” kittens) or to a home with a young friendly resident cat who can show him the ropes and provide socialization that is so important for young kittens. He loves being around people and playing so a home filled with love and people to shower him with the attention he deserves would be purrfect.
Tajin would make a welcomed addition to whomever is lucky enough to adopt this spicy boy! If he sounds like a spice you’d like to add to your home, apply below to meet him! ----------- There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best estimate. Adoption fees include a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated.
Cats are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption. Interested in adopting or learning more about this cat? Pet Haven is a foster-based rescue. Our animals live with foster families until they are placed in permanent homes and their foster families get to know the dogs and cats learning important information about the animals. For example, the foster family will know if the dog or cat is good with other animals or children, and will have a good idea of what kind of training, attention, and special needs the pet may require. This makes our foster families great resources for potential adopters!

Our Vision

Our Values
Excellence in service and care; community; integrity; innovation; perseverance; compassion; a rewarding place to volunteer
How We Help
Spay/Neuter Initiative Program: Providing support to end pet overpopulation in Minnesota
Owner Surrender: Providing a safe haven for pet owners
Foster: Committed to finding forever homes for cats and dogs
Phoenix Fund for Special Needs: Providing veterinary care for animals in need of healing
What We Do
We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat lives with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.
Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal’s temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and any medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can then find the right family for each dog and cat.
Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we’re working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.
We spay/neuter prior to adoption.
We microchip all our Pet Haven Pets and remain as a secondary contact.
We make sure all pets are up to date on required vaccinations
We test for Heartworm and Lymes in all our dogs and are transparent in the results and treament
We test for FeLV/FIV and are transparent in the results. We believe that cats who test positive still deserve a chance at a quality home.
We do not euthanize animals unless they have untreatable health or behavioral conditions that deny them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
How We Operate
We rely on adoption fees, tax-deductible donations, grants, and special events to keep our rescue operating. Our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers have provided the passion and commitment to keep Pet Haven a safe haven for animals for almost 70 years.
We are committed to preventing pet homelessness through the SNIP Grant. Since 2005, we have granted more than $240,000 to organizations in Minnesota to support spay/neuter initiatives.
