Additional adoption info

An adoption donation is usually between $75 and $200 for our little lovelies. This includes all basic vet work such as immunizations, altering, and heartworm and leukemia tests. We reserve the right to be very picky with our pets as some of them are very small and sometimes fragile. We usually do not place small dogs or kittens in a home with children under the age of 5, however, we do take the individual circumstances and the individual pet into consideration. An Adoption Application must be completed and if approved, an Adoption Contract is required for final approval to adopt.

Go meet their pets

We recently opened an Adoption Center in Albemarle which serves as a location for record keeping and to kennel a limited number of cats. The Adoption Center is located at 650 Hwy 24/27 Bypass East. Pets are brought to this location for viewing on alternate Saturdays for our Adopt-A-Thons. Pets may also be met by appointment with the foster family.

More about this rescue

Stanly County Humane Society, Inc. is a non-profit corporation recognized by the IRS as 501(c)3. All contributions are tax deductible. Our mailing address is PO Box 1632 Albemarle, NC 28001. We feature a large variety of both pure and mixed breed dogs and cats. Our pets are fostered in a climate so that we know them well and can place them in the kind of home they need. We start our dogs on basic obedience training including walking on a leash, housebreaking, crate-training and socialization. Our goal is for both the pet and the adoptive family to be very happy with each other.
