My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please contact Mamie Hall (mamie.hall@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet mama ready for her own family!

GINGER NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name:
Ginger      Best Guess for Breed:   Boston Terrier mix

Best Guess for Age:   2 years as of December 2024        SEX:   Female

Approximate Weight:   13.4 lbs

Gets Along With:    Other dogs! We haven't seen her with kids or dogs but she can be tested.

Currently Living at:   DC Area Foster Home.

Special adoption considerations:   Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Ginger would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure she can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.

Ginger is Looking For:  Her forever family! This sweet mama raised her puppies in a Puerto Rico shelter and they went off to get their own homes. Now it is her turn and this awesome little snugglebug is eager to get her own humans for lots of belly rubs, sniffy walks, and world exploration!

You gotta see the smile on this girl. What a sweetie. What do you say? Is that the face you want to wake up to every morning for many mornings to come?

What My Foster Says About Me:   Ginger has been an absolute angel of a house guest! She is polite, calm, goofy, and super-duper cute!! I think she would thrive in a calm, easy-going family. She is smart and eager to please so I think she would be very easy to train - and she is already very well behaved!

Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.

TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online   at   bit.ly/adoptaluckydog  .

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!

Go meet their pets

Our adoption events are held each weekend. A schedule of times and locations can be found at www.luckydoganimalrescue.org.
