Elphaba is a 2 year old Shih Tzu mix ready to ‘defy gravity’ with her forever family! Elphie was found abandoned in a poppy field with her Wicked pals on the way to see the Wizard. We don’t know how anyone left this girl behind but we know everyone will be green with envy once you adopt her! Elphie weighs 12 pounds and has a gorgeous non-shedding coat. She will require regular grooming and we expect interested homes to have a plan for coat maintenance. Ready to meet your new roommate at Shiz? Adopt Elphaba and take flight!!

Elphaba is a happy, cuddly, and amazing gal who has a heart the size of the Emerald City! Elphaba loves her people and will follow you down the yellow brick road to just about anywhere! She joined our rescue with a smile on her face despite her less than stellar start to life and we haven’t seen it drop since. She loves to play and is always ready to scoop up a toy before she drops it in your lap for some playtime. Her dream home is one ready to shower her in love and attention which she totally deserves! She would be thrilled to tag along on adventures but is just as happy to snuggle the day away on the couch. She has such a goofy personality when she’s playing. Seriously, everyone who meets Elphaba can’t help themselves from falling instantly in love with her, no magic required! She’s ready to bring the power of flight into your home as she can jump in your lap with ease!

Elphaba wakes up around 8 AM for her first potty break of the day. Once she comes back inside, she snoozes until he’s ready for her first meal. She grazes at her kibble throughout the morning until she’s ready for his walk. She loves to get all her sniffs out. During the afternoon, she alternates between napping and playing with her toys. She gets tons of snuggles and kisses. Dinner is served at 6 PM followed by tons of kisses and belly rubs with her foster family as they cuddle on the couch and watch their favorite movie musicals! She goes out for one last potty before she heads to bed.

Elphaba loves her canine siblings and is super playful. She would love a canine companion in her forever home but would also be fine flying solo. She loves kids and adults. Elphaba walks well on a leash and is working on her potty training. Elphaba will require regular grooming and interested homes should be ready to discuss this. Ready to start your day in the Emerald City? Adopt Elphaba and skip down the yellow brick road!

Elphaba is an option for any home, regardless of prior dog owning experience. Kids should be over the age of 6.

More about this rescue

We are passionate folks who love dogs and love people! We strive to make the most appropriate match between human and canine. Because our dogs live in foster homes we know about their temperament and personality and therefore can help families and individuals decide if the dog is a good match or not. We are excited to help people find the right pooch for them and look forward to meeting great folks and welcoming them into the DPS Family.
