My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

In an effort to NOT sound whiny, I'll give you the highlights of my life so far. SWAT came and got me and now I'm out of the baby making business that I've been in for most of my 8 years...there, that's about it.
Hi, I'm L'enore. I am a 65 pound, pretty Pittie, just getting over my LAST litter. I was purchased as a "backyard breeding dog" when I was young...I was chained out in an unfenced ya rd so I kept getting bred by other dogs and they couldn't sell the puppies...so they gave up, which would have been a good thing if they would have had me spayed...but no. SWAT took the last litter of little darlings and sent them up north...I stayed with a foster until it was my turn to come to SWAT. I was in a yard and now I'm a house dog. I've never been allowed inside before, there are some scary things, like tile but some really cool things, like the dog couch. Before SWAT, I had pretty much been on my own except for the puppies (and males traveling by). I growled at other dogs at first but I was really afraid...now I'm best buds with all of them...even little pester-butt Orca is my friend. I love people, ALL people. I'm very gentle and SWAT says I have something called a great disposition. I won't potty in the house, I am leash trained and they are trying to teach an "old dog" new tricks...there are treats involved so I'm all in. My teeth are in kind of bad shape. I probably should not have chewed on my chain all those years. Dr. Hammer says there's really nothing wrong with them, just worn down a bit. Here's my wish list:
* a yard to exercise and sun myself in
* a leash for walks at night
* a big fluffy bed that I can curl up in this
winter
* a family that will love me forever and always
some things are negotiable, some are not...we can talk about it.
