Jackson is the sweetest boy and biggest cuddle bug inside. loves his crate, follows commands, always by your side on the couch (or next to your desk as work from home buddy). He just struggles with anxiety on leash around other dogs. His ideal family would be someone with older kids (like teenagers) or no kids. A fenced in yard would be ideal or if not someone who understands how to walk a reactive pup. He has so much love to give and we are heartbroken about needing to re-home him, but felt it wasn’t fair to keep him crated whenever our toddler was around
He knows sit, shake, stop, lay down, roll over, leave it, wait. Very good with commands in house. Significant leash reactivity so struggles with commands on leash
Age: 7 years
Weight: 50 lbs
Temperament: Gets along with teens and adults. Needs to be an only dog.
Training: Housetrained, crate-trained, knows commands and tricks
Vetting: neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative
Email for questions: nicole.p.herbst@gmail.com
To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit.
We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Please expect an adoption fee of $300; some of our urgent or long-term dogs have discounted fees.
