Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Mr. Moo is a Detroit dog. He was turned over to Detroit Animal Care and Control as an owner surrender on November 18th because the owners did not have time to train or take care of him. Once entering DACC, it was apparent to shelter staff that he was petrified of everything and anything, but craved human affection. We can vouch for this. At MHAC, he velcro's himself to whoever he can, he becomes your shadow. When we interact with him, he just wants to crawl into your lap for kisses, but very slow and cautiously, wagging his tail with every step. Once adopted out of DACC, he was home for only 72 hours, before the adoptive owner contacted the police station explaining they had found a stray dog at a local business. Upon arrival to the shelter, his adoptive owner filled out stray forms as if they had just happened to find him. The whole time, Mr. Moo looked up at them, watching, confused. Once they left, he watched the door, heartbroken and scared. He did not understand. Neither did we, until we scanned him for a microchip. His story fell together like a puzzle. He did not want to go back into a kennel. He trembled in the corner of his cage as if being punished. Then he slowly came out of his shell with us and we have yet to observe ANY negative behavior from him at all, or even something that would warrant or trigger him to bounce from home to home. MHAS has made a promise to Moo that the third time's a charm and we WILL find his furever home.
