This one-year-old lab mix is medium-sized with a heart big enough to love every dog she meets (and let's be real, she'll probably love you too — once she works up the nerve). She's a social butterfly with a soft spot for her fellow four-legged friends, so a home with other dogs is an absolute must.
Now, let’s talk about Mindy’s confidence — or, you know, her charming lack thereof. She’s still figuring out how to be the confident, self-assured dog we all know she can be, but she's got loads of potential. With the right love and patience, she’ll blossom into the brave little adventurer we all dream of. Mindy is a little cautious on the leash, but once she makes it to the dog park and comes home, she loves cuddling with her foster family on the couch.

An adoption coordinator will review your application to ensure your situation matches the needs of the animal you're interested in. If completing an application online, please note, every question must be answered on the application for it to be reviewed by an adoption coordinator. As part of the review process, we'll request references. Because we are an all-volunteer organization, it may take up to 48 hours for an adoption coordinator to contact you.

Henrico Humane Society is an all-volunteer, foster-based,
non-profit organization that rescues dogs and cats from
across Central Virginia and places them in loving, forever
homes.
HHS has saved hundreds of animals each year since
1991. Many of the dogs and cats we rescue come from
shelters in rural areas where they have fewer adoption
opportunities. The majority of the animals in our care live
with foster parents until they find a permanent home.
We don't have a shelter and most of our animals live in foster homes until they're adopted, which allows us to get to know their personality and temperament.
