My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When we first met Holly, we felt incredibly lucky to have had the chance to know her, even if it was for a short time. Now, we’re fortunate to have her brother, Prancer, with us! While they share an unmistakable resemblance, their personalities couldn’t be more different. Holly was the graceful, princess-like soul, while Prancer is the adventurous, action-packed hero of the story.

Full of energy, playfulness, and fun, Prancer is the kind of dog who’ll have you smitten the moment you meet him. He’s not only ready to play at a moment’s notice, but he’s also incredibly sweet, with a love for everyone—whether they have two legs or four. You truly can’t go wrong with Prancer!

Prancer`s adoption fee includes his neuter, microchip, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, heartworm test (if over 9 months old), and kept up to date on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

If you are interested in adopting Prancer, you may fill out an application at www.tlchs.org or you are welcome to make a Match Making appointment to come out and meet him first. We are open Tuesday – Sunday 1:00pm to 4:00pm.

Go meet their pets

We do adoptions on the square in Dahlonega most weekends, attend various local events, have annual fundraisers, and our animals can be seen at the shelter any day from 10:00 - 4:30 (an hour for lunch from 12:00-1:00). Come by and see the new changes at the shelter as well, ask to volunteer, or just introduce yourself and meet the wonderful staff members.

More about this shelter

Established in 1977, TLC is one of the oldest no-kill shelters in North Georgia. Our shelter is on about six acres near the Lumpkin County shelter, and about five miles east of Dahlonega. Our focus is saving as many homeless pets as we can, and preventing the birth of unwanted pets. We have always relied on private donations to care for as many animals as we can.
