My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by their previous owner on 9/6/24.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Rascal, a senior feline who has made a shelter her temporary home. Rascal is the ultimate lap cat, always looking to curl up on a warm human. Rascal has a heart full of love to give, and she's just waiting for the right person to share it with. She is comfortable around children and other cats. Her prior owner was sad to bring her in but was unable to bring her with to her new living arrangements. Being a senior cat, she has some medical issues we can discuss with you. She had some teeth extracted due to dental disease and is expected to make a full recovery and recently recovered from an upper respiratory infection. Our team can discuss future care with you. Her age has only made her wiser and more loving. Make Rascal's golden years truly golden by giving her a home filled with love and warmth.

At SDHS:
This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
