My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet King - The Polydactyl Zoomie Champion!

Bow down to the one and only King! This 4-month-old male tuxedo kitten isn't just any kitten-he's got extra toes to prove his royal status! King's adorable polydactyl paws give him an extra touch of charm, and they make him even more skilled at his favorite activity: zooming around like the champion he is.

King is a bundle of energy who loves chasing toys, exploring every corner, and showing off his playful antics. But don't let his energetic nature fool you-he's also incredibly sweet and loves cuddling up for attention when playtime winds down.

If you're looking for a unique, fun-loving companion with a touch of extra magic in his paws, King is your guy.

Come meet King and let this extra-toed superstar zoom his way into your heart! We are open for walk in's 12pm-4pm Tuesday-Saturday (except statutory holidays).

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
