Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Gina, lady! As friendly as retrievers come, Gina is even-tempered, happy-go-lucky, and as family friendly as a 30 pounder can be! This girl is a huge people-pleaser, often doing anything and everything to be called a "Good Girl", given a treat, or tossed a ball. She doesn't mind much either, she loves other dogs, kids, people, she loves all! Gina has an amazing nature to her, just the perfect family dog; if she's given just one thing to do, she is happy as can be. She truly thrives with direction, and enjoys obeying, just as retrievers were meant to be. Honestly, Gina is such a big baby, a fly could probably tell her what to do! Her energy level is just perfect for a dog wanting to please, she's always excited to learn something new, and always down for some amazing scratches and cuddles. Did I mention she's a HUGE kisser? That is one definite thing about this girl, she shows all the affection she can, and is an absolute love bug! Often, while we let Gina explore the lobby, she spends most of her time either following one of us around, or laying contently at our feet as we work. While she's been with us, she's not minded her crate much at all, either, in fact, it seems like she enjoys having her own little place to go. We know Gina will do amazingly in just about any home, willing to give her some structure, and direction a typical 6 month old pup looks for!

More about this shelter
We are a non-profit organization out of Monticello, IA specializing in the care for dogs and cats that need us. Our care does not stay local, as we take transports from all over the United States, and adopt all over as well!
Our mission's primary focus is to help reduce the homeless pet population by finding homes for spayed/neutered pets, and helping educate WHY this process is so important, and the proper way to care for pets!
