Here's what the humans have to say about me:
FIRST PHOTO COURTESY OF LIBBY VOLGYES/THE PALM BEACH POST
UPDATED BIO 9/6/2010: Billy the Kid is an adorable, 7 month old, 12.7 pound puppy that came into rescue through no fault of his own. He has been in his foster home for 7 days now and is proving to be a sweet puppy. He is a curious boy who gets along with everyone, and enjoys chewing his bones and chasing his squeaky toys and balls. He is - so far - not destructive at all – if you don’t count the toilet paper roll he got hold of the 2nd night in his foster home. He has a great temperament, and realizes he is the youngest out of everyone - including the kitties - so he shows them respect. He has been to the dog park, (which by the way, everyone LOVES him and thinks he is just too cute for words!) and has shown what a great boy he is - willing to play with his new doggie friends. He is very outgoing and friendly, and always up for a new adventure.
Billy did come from a situation where he did not have any training. He is currently learning his name, to sit, stay, come, as well as what it means to be housetrained. He is even learning to “go pee pee” on command! He has already learned to sit for treats, what a smart boy! Billy is very devoted to both his foster parents and follows them everywhere, he definitely wants to be in the same room with them. He is clearly used to sleeping in bed with his people as well, and even understands when you tell him to “lie down”. Billy’s foster mom doesn’t crate her dogs, and Billy is fine being in the house with no one home. He does have a number of toys and bones to keep him busy and seems to understand that is what he is supposed to chew on. Billy is a puppy, and therefore, very active as puppies will be. Billy gets walked for 30 minutes twice a day and is pretty good on a leash. He does get distracted by other dogs and people and wants to say hello to everyone he meets – too cute! Billy would do best in a home where he could get daily exercise and walks to keep him from getting bored. He also needs a home with a fenced-in yard. Due to Billy's larger size, he can be placed in a home with well-behaved children.
INITIAL BIO 09/01/2010: MEET BILLY THE KID! Billy is only 7 months old and weighs 12#; he is being fostered in West Palm Beach, FL. Billy's previous owner didn't want him anymore - so sad! So Billy found his way to United Yorkie Rescue - what a lucky boy! Billy only came into rescue today, so we don't know too much about him yet - please watch this site for updates in a few days!
