My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Merida – The sweetheart you've been waiting for. With one eye brown and the other crystal blue, she's sure to captivate you with just one glance. Merida is a 10-month-old, 40lb bundle of love who’s phenomenal with both kids and other dogs. During a recent outing, Merida showed her incredible gentle nature by happily interacting with tons of kids—no jumping, just sweet kisses and a calm demeanor that melted hearts.

This amazing girl has been patiently waiting in a shelter in Mississippi since May, but her wait is almost over! Merida is making her freedom ride to NJ soon and dreams of finding her forever family just in time for the holidays.

If you’re looking for a loving companion who’s as sweet as they come, Merida is the one for you!

Apply to adopt at https://peace4paws.org/adoption-application and help us give Merida the best gift of all—a home filled with love.

More about this rescue

Peace4paws is a 501 (c) 3 non profit public charity centered in Northern New Jersey. Through our foster home system, we are able to support the rehoming and adoption of dogs from kill shelters as well as facilities of research and related fields. Founded in 2007, our initial mission focused on supporting sanctuary and forever homes for animals retired from use in research and related fields. In the past few years we have broadened our scope of rescue. We continue to help our own retired research animals and independent sanctuaries but also save shelter dogs. We are able to do this work through the efforts of our volunteer network and generous donors. Please see our website or facebook page "Peace4Paws" to meet our adoptable dogs, success stories or volunteer opportunities. We organize fundraising events centered around yoga, music, health, or animal friendly activities. We are also involved with student outreach and education. We would love to work with you.
