My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you looking for a big cuddle bug to share a nap with? Do you love a sweet chatty cat you can share stories with?
Louis is the cat for you!

The ideal home for Louis would be a quiet space with adults, since young children seem to be a little overwhelming for Louis. He has lived with cats and dogs previously but it might be best for Louis to have all your attention to himself.
Louis is in need of a little weight loss and a dental cleaning. We will be looking for a family that can take him to his dental appointment so he can recover in his new home.

Come into the branch to meet Louis and have a little cuddle time. He will surely convince you to take him home. Our adoption hours are 12pm to 3pm, Tuesday to Sunday.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
