Hi my name is Katsu! I was rescued with my 3 other siblings Sriracha, Teriyaki, and Mochi from underneath somebody’s doorstep in Brawley, California. We were living outside with our mom. We were not sick or injured, just living in the elements. A nice woman had our mom fixed, and she was dropped back off in the same front yard as she was too feral to be a pet. This same woman brought us to Smittens so we could eventually be adopted! My foster mom says that I’m a second close runner up in best all around to my sister, Teriyaki. I’ve come such a long way considering I was the most aggressive right out the gate. But now I will hop into my foster’s bed and lay on her lap! I get along with all other cats as well as my foster’s dog. I love wet food and I especially love to play! I will play with a toy by myself or with a human. I really enjoy running and chasing the fishing pole toy! I would love to be adopted with one of my siblings in our forever home!
Please note young kittens are adopted out in pairs or to a home with another playful cat or kitten.

Smittens isn’t just another cat rescue.
We are a coalition of volunteers with a spay/neuter mission, dedicated to helping both stray and owned animals in the greater San Diego area get fixed, receive veterinary care, and whatever else they may need! Smittens works with shelters and other rescues to route cats to proper vet care and eventual homes, and we take in stray cats who need help getting off the street. We also support TNR for feral cats, and assist cat and dog owners to get their own pets fixed and vaccinated at a low cost.
