My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! I’m Sunshine, and I’m here to brighten your day. I’m a 2 year old 38 lb mixed breed who's a sweet, loving girl who’s just looking for a family to call mine. For some reason I've been overlooked and calling the shelter my home since March of 2023, at no fault of my own. I’m friendly with both dogs and kids, and I absolutely love being around people. While I don’t know much about my past, I do know that I’m ready to start a new chapter, and I’d be over the moon to come home for the holidays.

I’m spayed and up to date on all my vaccines, so I’m ready to be part of your family as soon as you open your heart and home to me. I’m coming from Mississippi to New Jersey, and I can’t wait to meet you!

If you think I could be the perfect addition to your family, please fill out an adoption application at peace4paws.org/adoption-application. I’d love to share my love and sunshine with you!

More about this rescue

Peace4paws is a 501 (c) 3 non profit public charity centered in Northern New Jersey. Through our foster home system, we are able to support the rehoming and adoption of dogs from kill shelters as well as facilities of research and related fields. Founded in 2007, our initial mission focused on supporting sanctuary and forever homes for animals retired from use in research and related fields. In the past few years we have broadened our scope of rescue. We continue to help our own retired research animals and independent sanctuaries but also save shelter dogs. We are able to do this work through the efforts of our volunteer network and generous donors. Please see our website or facebook page "Peace4Paws" to meet our adoptable dogs, success stories or volunteer opportunities. We organize fundraising events centered around yoga, music, health, or animal friendly activities. We are also involved with student outreach and education. We would love to work with you.
