My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Howdy humans, my name is Duke and I am a handsome little Chihuahua/Corgi mix with a groovy soft & thick tri-color coat, about 2 years old and 16 lbs. I was found one night in San Antonio Texas, just standing on a rural road frozen in fear and when a lady approached me I didn't even move a muscle. She picked me up and brought me home, and I cannot even express how happy and grateful I was! Immediately, I made myself at home, friendly with everyone, and fit right in with the other rescue dogs and cats, calm and happy-go-lucky. My favorite activities are taking a nap on the couch, watching TV snuggling beside you, going for walks, or just relaxing at home. I’m not very interested in doggy toys but I love doggy treats and chews. I am well-behaved, housebroken, and crate-trained, and I only bark to alert you. I’m grateful and loyal, easygoing and friendly, and I don't even have separation anxiety. My foster mom says I will make a wonderful sweet companion for any person/family anywhere on the Eastern Seaboard. Inquire about me today!

Additional adoption info

Please DO NOT apply unless the entire family / household is on board with adopting one of our dogs. We must receive an application for you to move forward in the process. Thoughtful direct emails are welcome and will be answered. However, an application is still a necessary step. We want to make sure we find our dogs a perfect fit with a family so both the dog and the family are happy. We keep our dogs with fosters once we get them out of shelters for a little bit to learn and understand their personalities. Our relationship with families doesn't stop at adoption! We are always available for any follow up questions and are happy to be a resource as you and your new pet settle into a routine.
