Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Chicken – The Sweetest Little Companion!
Chicken is a lovable and unique 9-week-old pup weighing just 4.5 pounds. This adorable mixed breed has a quirky name and an even quirkier personality, making her the perfect addition to a loving home.
About Chicken:
Age & Size: At 9 weeks old and 4.5 pounds, Chicken is tiny but full of personality!
Personality: Playful, affectionate, and eager to please, Chicken loves spending time with her humans and enjoys both cuddles and playtime.
Good with Others: Chicken gets along well with other dogs and is always excited to make new friends, whether they’re furry or human.
What Makes Chicken Special:
Chicken is a quick learner and is already making great progress with puppy basics. She’s the perfect mix of energy and snuggles—ready to play one minute and curl up with you the next.
Ideal Home:
Chicken would thrive in a home where she can be part of the family’s daily life. She’d love a cozy space to nap in and plenty of opportunities for play and exploration.

More about this rescue
We are a small 501 C3 nonprofit rescue located in Elburn, Illinois. In 2014, Safe Haven Dog Rescue became its own non-profit. We are licensed by the Illinois Agriculture Department.
The majority of our dogs and puppies are pulled from Kill Pounds and Shelters in Tennessee, Arkansas, and Illinois. We also accept local medical cases as often as our finances will allow.
Please take a few moments to read the stories about the dogs and puppies we have available for adoption. We disclose everything we know about the dogs, sometimes we know a lot often we know only that they were strays, thrown away on the side of the road, in the woods, or found in abandoned houses.
While we don’t always know their past we are certain that their future is much brighter.
We hope that you and your family are part of the future…..
