Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Solid gray, short hair, neutered male, born approx. 11/1/22, #19476
Cats: great solo, ok with mellow cats Dogs: unknown Children: tweens+ likely good
BACKGROUND: Merlin showed up one day on a volunteer’s porch meowing at the house wanting food and attention. Once it was confirmed that Merlin had no microchip and didn’t have a nearby owner, she asked if Rescue House could help him find a loving forever home.
PERSONALITY: Calm, cuddly, and easygoing, Merlin is a delight of a cat! He is the sweetest, most snuggly fellow who will follow you around and happily sit on your lap for hours. He purrs, chirps, and has an adorable little peep-meow for attention (except at mealtimes when he brings out the big meows). Merlin might even drool when he’s super-contended cuddling with you. He enjoys all pets: head, chin, full body, little belly rubs, and being wrapped in your arms for a lengthy hug and kiss with your face against his. Merlin likes to rub against your legs, and he’ll flop and roll by your feet, stretching out to invite the big pets. His dense double-coated fur is shiny and soft and he can really get into a good brush session. On top of all this awesomeness, Merlin is fun-loving and playful! He likes little mice and ball toys as well as indulging with catnip, though interactive wands seem to be his favorite: this high-jumper will fly through the air if you get him going. A good play workout leaves Merlin feeling relaxed and is a great way to end the day for a restful night.
COMPATIBILITY: Merlin is comfortable as a solo kitty (he’s people-focused) and is okay around other mellow cats who do their own thing, though he can be tense with overly dominant ones. We don’t know his thoughts on dogs or children, though think he could do well with respectful tweens and up. What he dislikes most is being left alone for too long; he wants your company!
Merlin will take ALL the love you can give him and return it in spades. He is a calm and soul-affirming kitty who brings peace and joy to his people… will you be the lucky one?
While healthy, Merlin has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). This is a type of virus that typically causes some weakening of a cat’s immune system. It is a cat-only virus and cannot be spread through casual friendly contact between cats. FIV+ cats can and do live quite normal lives in quality, duration, and
