My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Vicky was brought in by Humane Law Enforcement on November 5, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Vicky! Vicky is a sweet and inquisitive bunny who's ready to hop into her new home! She loves attention but prefers to keep all four paws on the ground, so the best way to bond with her is by spending quality time together on the floor. A steady supply of greens and timothy hay is the way to her heart! As a domestic rabbit, Vicky thrives indoors where she can enjoy supervised playtime in a rabbit-proofed space. These moments let her show off her most playful and quirky behaviors! She'll need a spacious enclosure with plenty of free-roaming time (the bigger, the better!) and a family committed to daily interaction and regular grooming to keep her healthy and social. When given the space and enrichment she needs, Vicky is sure to form a deep bond with her humans. Don't forget to bring a carrier for a safe trip home!

RHDV2 Vaccine: Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV2) is a highly contagious disease that can affect rabbits. Due to its presence in San Diego County, all rabbits will receive a mandatory RHDV2 vaccine before adoption. Guests will be charged $14 for this vaccine upon adoption.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
