Kuumba is a handsome black kitten with a heart as gentle as his playful spirit. While he may be a bit shy at first, it doesn't take long for his curious side to shine. With a little patience, a few fun toys, and Kuumba’s favorite: Churus, he begins to show his playful personality! Once Kuumba feels comfortable, he’s off chasing, pouncing, and exploring every nook and cranny. He gets along well with other feline friends, finding confidence and comfort in their company. Kuumba would thrive in a home with another playful cat or kitten to buddy up with. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful companion who just needs a little time to feel safe, Kuumba is ready to fill your home with joy and heartwarming moments. 💕

The first step to adopting a cat or dog from Animal Friends Alliance is to fill out an adoption questionnaire. You can do this online!

The next step is to pick out a cat or dog! Check out our adoptable cats and adoptable dogs for pictures and short descriptions or come into the shelter at our Taft Hill campus. We also have adoptable cats at many offsite locations.

Note: not all available cats and dogs reside at our campuses. Some are at off-site adoption partners or in foster homes. If you are interested in a particular cat or dog, please call our shelter at (970) 484-8516 to find out about their current status and location.

We do not ship animals. You are required to come and meet your new addition prior to adoption so that we can ensure a good match.

Please note that we will make a copy of the adopters’ State ID card, Driver’s License or passport at the time of adoption.

Our spay/neuter clinic performs surgeries on both cats & dogs, and we also offer low-cost vaccination clinics every week.

Our organization's goal is to do everything in our power to prevent euthanasia due to 'homelessness'.
