Meet Beef!
This wiggly, toe-tapping guy is all about enthusiasm and excitement! Beef greets you at his kennel with a happy dance, making it clear he’s ready for whatever fun the day holds.
Beef is food-motivated to the max—he’ll sit for treats, though he’s still working on his patiece. He gets so excited that he might jump up but even with food or toys, Beef is all wiggles and joy—he’s tolerant of handling, gives things up easily, and is always ready for the next adventure (even if he can’t quite decide what that is) - he just wants a to be a part of of everything!
Beef loves to play, but his energy can turn into fun, jumpy bursts of wildness. With a little training to focus his zest for life, Beef will make an incredible, fun-loving companion for someone ready to embrace his bouncy, goofy charm.
Eligible for rescue, foster, and adoption. Meet Beef at ACCT Philly any day of the week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or email foster@acctphilly.org to express interest in fostering him.
Behavior notes:
Per Staff 12/16:12/16: Took Beef out with another staff member to get him a cute holiday picture! He was such a good boy. He’s very curious about new sights and sounds so he would get distracted but very easy to get his attention with treats and verbal positive reinforcement! He was wonderful to spend time with and loved all the attention.
12/16/24 volunteer notes: Love this boy!! He’s so much fun. Very easy for leashing, he pulls minimally on the leash but it’s mostly just out of excitement. He knows sit and takes treats pretty nicely! Such an excited boy. He’s pretty jumpy
again out of excitement. Super affectionate!! Takes pets all over and jumped into my lap for cuddles. Very treat motivated. Wiggly boy and loved meeting new people in the volunteer office! He pancaked trying to return to the kennel so I picked him up which he allowed no issue
BEHAVIOR EVALUATION 12/16:
KNOWN HISTORY:
APO pickup
KENNEL PRESENTATION:
Beef was standing at the front of his kennel wiggly with soft eyes and toe taps. He jumped up on the door and stayed there for leashing but allowed easy leashing. He exited without issue.
LEASH SKILLS:
Pulls moderately
HANDLING:
In the room, Beef went straight for a treat and allowed the handler to take a busy bone from him. He was super wiggly and allowed all handling from the handler even while there is food in his mouth. He does not have a good attention span or patience and will sit for treats but will jump up and whine. He is super treat motivated and very snatchy. This excitable pup is wild and crazy, bouncy all over the place and will get a little mouthy.
PLAY:
Engages in play – gets jumpy
TOYS:
Takes possession but drops it quickly– short attention span
