This is Doughnut, and he's ready for a fresh start!

Doughnut may have a sweet name, but don’t let that fool you—this handsome Heeler mix is as tough as they come. Doughnut came to us as part of a heartbreaking humane case, but with time, medical care, and lots of love, he’s ready to leave the past behind and start a new chapter.

True to his breed, Doughnut is a tenacious and spirited little guy with a strong personality. He’s higher-energy and thrives on activity and structure, making him a great fit for someone with Heeler or rescue dog experience. Doughnut can be a bit stubborn (in that charming Heeler way), so he’ll need a confident and patient adopter to help him channel his energy in positive ways.

Doughnut is still adjusting to shelter life, so we haven’t yet tested him with other animals. Right now, he’s focused on getting comfortable and building trust with his human friends.
