Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Toffee came into the shelter with radial nerve damage to her front right leg. It was suspected that she was hit by a car. The poor girl had to have her leg amputated, but she has adapted to life as a tripod marvelously. She happily runs around the backyard, playing with her toys and trotting around the pool. Toffee is skittish at first and takes a while to warm up to new people. But once she knows you and feels safe, she is loyal and loving. Whoever adopts Toffee should be patient and understanding of her past trauma. She is insecure and scared and can exhibit resource guarding of her favorite humans, so it would probably be best for Toffee to be the only dog in the household, unless the adopter is experienced with setting boundaries and creating a healthy pack dynamic. Cats would be fine. We don’t recommend really young children, as their sudden and loud movements could scare her. We hope Toffee finds a lovely forever home where her personality can blossom and where she can flourish and feel safe and adored for the deserving pup she is!
