My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet GI Joe! He is 7.5 pounds of Chihuahua powered energy and he’s about 4 years old. When he first arrived at his foster home, he was very shy and did not want to be picked up. Even though Joe did not like to be picked up…he very much enjoyed sitting in his foster mom’s lap and cuddling. Joe has only been in his foster home for a week and thinks he runs the show!! He is a good playmate with his four foster brothers and sisters. Joe is rambunctious and loves to run around the backyard and in the house. He is a sight to see when he gets the zoomies! He travels well in the car, plus he has even made a few trips to the store with his foster mom in a doggie backpack! Be careful because he will steal your heart with his loveable demeanor. This little guy would make a great addition to any home.

All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.

ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location.

Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. We understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.

Once your application is approved you will be contacted by the rescue and discuss the dog you are interested in and transportation.

Adoptions include spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, health certificate and transportation.

More about this rescue

We're a home-based rescue, so there's always someone around to care for the dogs. Most of our dogs are allowed to roam the main yard (as long as they behave themselves), and we have several food and water stations throughout. Every evening, the dogs are tucked into our kennel building with soft bedding.

Our focus is family-friendly dogs who get along with everyone. Of course, we sometimes don't know a dog's temperament until we meet, but we work hard to ensure dogs are going to the right homes for them.

To provide rescue, rehabilitation and new loving homes for dogs that have been living on the street, abused, abandoned and removed from high kill shelters.
