My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dragonfly is a 3-year-old, 45-pound bundle of resilience and joy. Just two months ago, he was found stumbling down the street, a heartbreaking picture of neglect. Severely emaciated, dehydrated, and unable to see, he was in desperate need of help. Thankfully, a kindhearted Good Samaritan brought him to our rescue on a Saturday, and that’s when his incredible journey began.

Through hand-feeding, subcutaneous fluids, and lots of love, Dragonfly slowly started to recover. At first, he needed to be carried outside for potty breaks and back to bed to rest, but he never gave up. With the help of an amazing foster family, he gained weight, strength, and—amazingly—his eyesight!

Today, Dragonfly is thriving. He loves running and playing with his doggie friends at the rescue, soaking up every ounce of joy that life has to offer. This sweet boy has endured so much, but his future is brighter than ever. He’s ready to leave his hard past behind and find a forever family who will love him as much as we do.

**Could you be the happy ending to Dragonfly’s story?**
IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.

Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adopt

All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.

ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location.

Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transport

We understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.December 15, 2024, 6:04 am

More about this rescue

We're a home-based rescue, so there's always someone around to care for the dogs. Most of our dogs are allowed to roam the main yard (as long as they behave themselves), and we have several food and water stations throughout. Every evening, the dogs are tucked into our kennel building with soft bedding.

Our focus is family-friendly dogs who get along with everyone. Of course, we sometimes don't know a dog's temperament until we meet, but we work hard to ensure dogs are going to the right homes for them.

Mission Statement
To provide rescue, rehabilitation and new loving homes for dogs that have been living on the street, abused, abandoned and removed from high kill shelters.
